In a survey or businesses in Australia between April 22 and 28, 2020, 80 percent of businesses in the construction industry indicated that they had registered, or intended to register, for the JobKeeper payment scheme. For the majority of industries over 50 percent of businesses indicated that they will access the payment.

The survey is based on a random sample of approximately 2,000 units stratified by industry and derived employment size.
The JobKeeker payment scheme was introduced by the Australian government as an incentive for businesses to retain employees throughout the crisis. The scheme paid a wage subsidy to businesses for each eligible employee that remained in employment.
